Well, Satsop Business Park has been taking inventory and finding hardware, tools and equipment from its nuclear power plant building days as well as more recent machines, office furniture, fixtures and even exercise equipment that it simply doesn’t need.
So, the Park’s having an auction beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, with a preview of all the lots scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. the day before, Wednesday, Oct. 5. The auction will take place at the Park’s new 50,000-square foot warehouse at 37 Enterprise Lane at Satsop Business Park.

There will be something for everyone. Auction offerings include a complete water purification system, many pieces of exercise equipment, a machine lathe and other machine shop equipment, office equipment, a 1992 GMC Yukon 4x4, assorted electric starters and transformers and much more.
“We realized we had a lot of things that we didn’t need and decided it was time to tidy up and make some more room for our continued growth,” said Tami Garrow, CEO of Satsop Business Park.
“There are lots of treasures we found here, so they’ll be plenty of bargains, I’m sure,” she said, adding that the new warehouse building where the auction will be housed is available for rent.
“This would also be a good opportunity for area businesses to see some of the varied and unique spaces we have available that are suited for a variety of ventures,” Garrow said.
The auction, both live and online, will be conducted by James G. Murphy Inc., commercial and industrial auctioneers, out of Kenmore. The brochure of all the items is available online at murphyauction.com., as is a catalog of the items organized by lots. Also, a printed catalog will be available on the preview day and auction day. Those with additional questions can call the company at (425) 486-1246.
“We have a total of 1,015 lots, the vast majority are in the warehouse building,” said Bob Jones, onsite auction supervisor for James G. Murphy Co.
A few items that were too big or cumbersome to move – such as a large, industrial water purification system – will be presented by projected photographs the day of the auction, but can be previewed the day before or even the day of the auction, Jones said.
Jones, who organized the auction into lots, characterized the offerings in the following categories: welding equipment, hydraulic equipment, shop equipment, hand tools, exercise equipment, entertainment equipment, rigging, nuts and bolts, motors to 50 horsepower. He said the auction will also include 200 lots of assorted electrical lights, starters, breakers, transformers, switches and fuses as well as valves, piping, and plumbing fixtures including toilets and sinks. Some 300 lots of office equipment including blueprint files, metal lockers, file cabinets, desks, chairs and work stations are also available. In addition, Jones said there are large propane tanks, pallet racking, an SUV, and five pieces of equipment for a machine shop including a lathe and a drill press.
The Hilltop Café, which is located at Satsop Business Park, will be selling a variety of food inside the warehouse the day of the auction.
“Everybody and their brother should check out this auction,” said Jones. “There is literally something for everybody.”
